R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Landon Roberts of Guthrie High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by winning the gold medal in the 1A boys' pole vault |
|
|
event at the 2017 University Interscholastic League Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. Roberts turned in an |
|
|
exceptional performance, soaring to a height of 15 feet, 3 inches, |
|
|
to claim first place; moreover, the vault also set a new conference |
|
|
record, exceeding the old mark by nine inches; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track & field athletes, Landon Roberts has ably |
|
|
represented his school, and he will cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Landon Roberts on winning the gold |
|
|
medal in the 1A boys' pole vault event at the 2017 UIL Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Roberts as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
