R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Leanne Kelley has ably served her fellow Texans as |
|
|
an intern and district liaison in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Jarvis Johnson during the 85th Legislative Session |
|
|
and the preceding interim; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Kelley joined the staff in the fall of 2016 as a |
|
|
communications intern, and by the end of the 85th Session, she had |
|
|
become the office's district liaison, deftly managing all |
|
|
constituent communications and points of concern; in addition to |
|
|
gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has |
|
|
learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
|
citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. Kelley attended Blinn |
|
|
College and received a bachelor's degree in communications from |
|
|
Texas State University in 2016; active in her campus community, she |
|
|
gave generously of her time and talents as the events director for |
|
|
the Texas State College Democrats and participated in the Black |
|
|
Lives Matter chapter at her school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern and district liaison with skill and |
|
|
dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for |
|
|
her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Leanne Kelley for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern and district liaison in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Jarvis Johnson and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Kelley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
