R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Kari Pennington has ably served the residents of
  Texas as a policy analyst in the office of State Representative
  James White during the 85th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Pennington has
  provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging
  tasks, and her understanding of criminal justice policy was
  particularly beneficial to the office; in addition to gaining
  valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned
  more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
  of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, An outstanding student, she graduated summa cum
  laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor's
  degree in urban planning and public affairs, and she is currently
  pursuing a master's degree in public affairs at The University of
  Texas at Austin; she previously spent two years as an AmeriCorps
  volunteer in the Boston public school system; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Pennington has performed her duties as a policy
  analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of
  special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Kari Pennington for her service as a
  policy analyst in the office of State Representative James White
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all
  her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Pennington as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
