R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Janis Reinken of Austin has greatly benefited her
  fellow Texans during the 85th Legislative Session through her
  dedicated service as chief clerk and general counsel of the House
  Corrections Committee; and
         WHEREAS, Known for her exceptional diligence, efficiency,
  and expertise in the intricacies of the legislative process,
  Ms. Reinken has worked in state government since 2006; she served
  as chief of staff and general counsel for former state
  representative Ruth Jones McClendon during five previous
  legislative sessions, and in that capacity, she was involved with
  numerous bills related to mental health, criminal justice, and
  other important issues; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Reinken holds a bachelor's degree in political
  science from Texas Tech University and a law degree from The
  University of Texas at Austin; she began her career in Abilene,
  where she was a municipal prosecutor and then a solo practitioner
  and counsel for a refining company; and
         WHEREAS, After settling in the Capital City, Ms. Reinken
  served as deputy general counsel for the Texas Savings & Loan
  Department and as chief of claims reimbursement for the Texas
  Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation; she was later
  employed for 14 years by a professional liability insurer, managing
  claims of legal malpractice and presenting seminars and workshops
  on legal ethics; and
         WHEREAS, An admired attorney and respected public servant,
  Janis Reinken has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the
  mission of the House Corrections Committee, and her outstanding
  contributions have earned the lasting appreciation of her
  colleagues; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Janis Reinken for her service as chief
  clerk and general counsel of the House Corrections Committee and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Reinken as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
