R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Saul Mendoza has ably served his fellow Texans as |
|
chief of staff in the office of State Representative James White |
|
during the 85th Legislature; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since becoming a legislative employee, Mr. Mendoza |
|
has contributed to the process of state government firsthand; while |
|
handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, he has provided vital |
|
leadership and helped ensure the efficient operation of the |
|
representative's office; he also worked for Representative White |
|
during two previous regular sessions of the legislature, beginning |
|
as an intern and aide during the 83rd Legislature before becoming |
|
Representative White's legislative and communications director for |
|
the 84th Legislature; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mr. Mendoza moved to California |
|
with his family before they settled in Lufkin, where he graduated |
|
from high school magna cum laude in 2009; he studied Spanish |
|
literature at The University of Texas at Austin, and even before he |
|
graduated in 2012, he had already worked on the campaigns of |
|
Representatives James White and Jim Landtroop and U.S. Senator Ted |
|
Cruz; since then, he has contributed his time and energy to |
|
FreedomWorks and the campaigns of State Senator Konni Burton and |
|
Governor Greg Abbott; in 2014, he was proud to become a naturalized |
|
citizen of the United States; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his |
|
duties as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Saul Mendoza for his service as chief of |
|
staff for State Representative James White and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
