R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sandra Elisa Licon has demonstrated an admirable |
|
|
commitment to public education through her service as a trustee of |
|
|
the San Elizario Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Appointed to the board of trustees in November 2016, |
|
|
Sandra Licon works with her colleagues to maintain the district's |
|
|
tradition of academic excellence and to foster a positive learning |
|
|
environment; she previously benefited local students as PTO |
|
|
president and parent volunteer coordinator; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Licon is supported in all her endeavors by her |
|
|
husband of 28 years, Eugenio Licon Jr.; their youngest son, Jason, |
|
|
is currently enrolled in San Elizario High School, and they are also |
|
|
the proud parents of two adult children, Angel and Cassandra; the |
|
|
Licons operate Licon Dairy, a fourth-generation family business; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The vitality of our state's public schools depends |
|
|
on the commitment of individuals like Sandra Licon, and her efforts |
|
|
in behalf of San Elizario ISD are helping area youth to build a |
|
|
strong foundation for the future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Sandra Elisa Licon for her service on the |
|
|
board of trustees of the San Elizario Independent School District |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her |
|
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Licon as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
