R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal |
|
|
milestones, and Savannah Araujo is celebrating that significant |
|
|
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High |
|
|
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Araujo is among the students who have completed |
|
|
their secondary education in the academy's Advanced Academics |
|
|
Program, which features specialized curricula focused on law, |
|
|
government, and public administration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Pedro Araujo Jr. and Leticia Araujo, |
|
|
Ms. Araujo has participated in numerous extracurricular activities |
|
|
throughout her high school career, including DECA, the Sierra |
|
|
Student Coalition, student council, and yearbook, and she belongs |
|
|
to the El Paso chapter of Top Teens of America, the National Honor |
|
|
Society, and the National Technical Honor Society; she has further |
|
|
distinguished herself through her involvement in orchestra and |
|
|
earned a Division I rating at the University Interscholastic League |
|
|
Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest; after graduating, she plans |
|
|
to study either science at the University of Oregon or business at |
|
|
Kansas State University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and |
|
|
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Savannah Araujo on the occasion of |
|
|
her graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Araujo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
