R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal |
|
milestones, and Elijah Escamilla is celebrating that significant |
|
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High |
|
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Escamilla is among the students who have |
|
completed their secondary education in the academy's Advanced |
|
Academics Program, which features specialized curricula focused on |
|
law, government, and public administration; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Obed Escamilla and Leticia Escamilla, |
|
Mr. Escamilla ranks in the top 10 percent of his class and is a |
|
member of both the National Honor Society and the National |
|
Technical Honor Society; he has further distinguished himself as a |
|
student-athlete, and in addition to running track, he played on the |
|
football team, helping lead the Trailblazers to district and |
|
bi-district championships and earning second team all-district |
|
honors; after graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University |
|
and to pursue a career as an officer in the military; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and |
|
friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with |
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Elijah Escamilla on the occasion of |
|
his graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Escamilla as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
