R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal |
|
|
milestones, and Samantha Morales is celebrating that significant |
|
|
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High |
|
|
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Morales is among the students who have completed |
|
|
their secondary education in the academy's Advanced Academics |
|
|
Program, which features specialized curricula focused on law, |
|
|
government, and public administration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Rafael Morales and Sugey Huerta, |
|
|
Ms. Morales played varsity soccer for four years; she also competed |
|
|
as a state finalist in speech and debate in 2016 and 2017 and served |
|
|
the school's team as captain; she is a member of the National |
|
|
Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society and an |
|
|
executive officer of Libertas Academy; after graduation, she plans |
|
|
to attend Arizona State University and then go to law school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and |
|
|
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Samantha Morales on the occasion of |
|
|
her graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
