R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal |
|
|
milestones, and Samantha Muñoz is celebrating that significant |
|
|
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High |
|
|
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Muñoz is among the students who have completed |
|
|
their secondary education in the academy's Advanced Academics |
|
|
Program, which features specialized curricula focused on law, |
|
|
government, and public administration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Yvette and Benjamin Muñoz, Ms. Muñoz |
|
|
has served as secretary and chair of the student council and held |
|
|
membership with the National Honor Society, the National Technical |
|
|
Honor Society, and DECA; she has also participated in Youth for |
|
|
Christ, theater, choir, and the debate, art, and yearbook clubs; |
|
|
she has further distinguished herself by placing first in the |
|
|
travel and tourism category at the district DECA competition and in |
|
|
the environmental category at the district science fair; after |
|
|
graduating, she plans to study digital communication at the college |
|
|
level in pursuit of a career as an animator or filmmaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and |
|
|
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Samantha Muñoz on the occasion of |
|
|
her graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Muñoz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
