R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eddie |
|
Bob Vantreese of Waxahachie, who passed away on May 8, 2017, at the |
|
age of 80; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of John Elbert and Virda Julia Hullett |
|
Vantreese, Bob Vantreese was born on July 28, 1936, and grew up in |
|
the town of Red Oak; after graduating from high school, he served |
|
his country as a member of the United States Army; on December 23, |
|
1955, he married the former Margie Ann Martin, with whom he shared a |
|
rewarding union that spanned six decades, before her passing; he |
|
was the proud father of two children, David and Juanita, and with |
|
the passing years, he delighted in seeing his family grow to include |
|
four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Vantreese's faith provided him with strength |
|
and hope after he was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer at |
|
age 32; told that he had less than a year to live, he went on to |
|
outlive that prediction by nearly a half century, and he cherished |
|
each day as a blessing, never to be taken for granted; he was an |
|
active member and a leader in his congregation at Forreston Baptist |
|
Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man who devoted himself wholeheartedly to his |
|
family, his faith, and his country, Bob Vantreese leaves his loved |
|
ones with countless treasured memories, and he will forever hold a |
|
special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Bob Vantreese |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to his relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bob |
|
Vantreese. |
