R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Laura Palomo has been named salutatorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2017 at Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School in Corpus |
|
|
Christi, and she indeed merits special recognition for receiving |
|
|
this significant honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Palomo demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her attainment of |
|
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
|
high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being |
|
|
recognized for her hard work, Ms. Palomo has gained the opportunity |
|
|
to address her fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on |
|
|
their shared history as well as their hopes and ambitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Laura Palomo has earned the respect and admiration |
|
|
of her teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic |
|
|
ability and commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright |
|
|
and promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Laura Palomo, salutatorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2017 at Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School, and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Palomo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
