R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Emily Eppright Kirchner has ably served her fellow
  Texans as chief of staff in the office of State Representative Ed
  Thompson for more than four years; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure, Mrs. Kirchner has
  provided valuable leadership and helped ensure the efficient
  operation of the representative's office, while also handling a
  wide range of challenging tasks; with characteristic diligence and
  dedication, she has shepherded numerous pieces of legislation that
  have benefited the constituents of House District 29 as well as
  citizens across the state, and during the 83rd, 84th, and 85th
  Sessions, she worked tirelessly on bills to protect Texas drivers;
  along the way, she has earned the respect and admiration of
  colleagues for her keen attention to detail, for her varied
  expertise, and for the care with which she approaches each new
  project; and
         WHEREAS, Before joining Representative Thompson's staff,
  Mrs. Kirchner distinguished herself in a number of other positions
  with the Texas Legislature, including service as legislative
  director for Representative Lyle Larson and as legislative aide for
  Representative Dennis Bonnen, whom she also assisted in her role as
  the capital raise coordinator for Heritage Bancorp; moreover, she
  gained valuable experience as a management intern for the
  U.S. Department of State in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and as the
  executive assistant to the vice president of field operations at
  the International Justice Mission, which assists victims of human
  trafficking across the globe; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Kirchner is a native Texan with small town
  roots, and she graduated from Shiner High School and Texas A&M
  University before earning a master's degree from the Lyndon
  B. Johnson School of Public Affairs; in all her endeavors, she has
  been blessed with the support of a loving family, which includes her
  parents, Anne and Richard Eppright, her husband, Tim Kirchner, and
  their daughter, Annelise Kent Kirchner; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed her
  duties as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and she is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Emily Eppright Kirchner for her service
  as chief of staff in the office of State Representative Ed Thompson
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Kirchner as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
