R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, June 25, 2017, signals the beginning of a new
  chapter in the lives of Benjamin Daniel Shackelford and Annie
  Avary, for on that day they are exchanging their wedding vows at The
  Carriage House in Conroe; and
         WHEREAS, This devoted couple met at Texas Tech University,
  brought together by their fellow student Amanda Vereen, who is also
  Mr. Shackelford's cousin and Ms. Avary's Tau Beta Sigma sorority
  sister; and
         WHEREAS, The groom graduated from high school in Perryton and
  joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2005; honorably discharged six
  years later, he attended Texas Tech University, where he competed
  on the power-lifting team and earned a bachelor's degree in
  exercise sport science; he subsequently became a coach and teacher
  at Snyder Junior High, and he has worked at New Caney Middle School
  since 2014; and
         WHEREAS, Raised in The Woodlands, Ms. Avary graduated from
  College Park High School in 2010 and continued her education at
  Texas Tech, where she played clarinet with the Goin' Band from
  Raiderland; after completing her degree in music in 2014, she went
  on to receive a master's degree in counseling from The University of
  Texas at Tyler, and she has since served as a band director in the
  New Caney and Conroe school districts; and
         WHEREAS, The wedding of Ben Shackelford and Annie Avary marks
  a profound deepening of a relationship that has grown in love,
  respect, and mutual regard with each passing day, and it is truly a
  pleasure to honor this fortunate couple as they are united in
  marriage; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Benjamin Daniel Shackelford and
  Annie Avary on their wedding and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for a lifetime of happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
