R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, That House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
|
resolve the differences on House Bill 555 (an additional fee for |
|
|
issuing a marriage license to applicants who are not residents of |
|
|
this state and the form of a marriage license and application for a |
|
|
marriage license) to consider and take action on the following |
|
|
matter: |
|
|
House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(1), is suspended to permit the |
|
|
committee to amend text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 6 of |
|
|
the bill to read as follows: |
|
|
SECTION 6. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a marriage license issued on or after January 1, 2019. A |
|
|
marriage license issued before January 1, 2019, is governed by the |
|
|
law in effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and |
|
|
the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
|
Explanation: This change is necessary to delay |
|
|
implementation of the bill until January 1, 2019. |
