R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Robert Gene Brashear of Raymondville on April 27, 2017,
  at the age of 70; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Louis Brashear and Lena McCormick, Robert
  Brashear was born in Elsa on July 11, 1946, and grew up with the
  companionship of three siblings, Janice, James, and Gale; he
  enjoyed a fulfilling 37-year career as a middle school science
  teacher in the Raymondville Independent School District until
  retiring in the early 2000s, and he was active with the Association
  of Texas Professional Educators for more than three decades; and
         WHEREAS, An avid outdoorsman as well, Mr. Brashear operated
  an outfitting business, serving as a guide for skilled and novice
  hunters and anglers alike; he was also a published author and
  photographer, and his award-winning circular, the South Texas
  Outdoor Newsletter, featured hunting and fishing in Texas and
  northern Mexico; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brashear shared nearly half a century of
  marriage with his wife, the former Patricia Jo Simon, and over the
  years, the couple were blessed with two children, Chrystl and
  Cedric; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father and an inspiring
  educator, Robert Brashear touched the hearts of countless people,
  and memories of his generous spirit and caring nature will be
  forever cherished by all those who were fortunate enough to know
  him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Gene Brashear
  and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Patricia Jo Brashear; to his children, Chrystl Grebo and her
  husband, Asim, and Cedric Brashear; to his honorary son, Matthew
  Tijerina; to his honorary granddaughters, Emily, Andreita, and
  Nicole Paz; to his sister, Gale Erbelding; to his brother-in-law,
  James Call; to his uncle, Truman Brashear, and his wife, Martha; and
  to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
  Brashear.
