R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Winter Wonderland Festival takes place each year |
|
|
in Rio Grande City; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This annual winter extravaganza is a joyful |
|
|
community tradition that features such events as a carnival, a |
|
|
parade, an ice-skating rink, and a barbeque cook-off; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association |
|
|
sanctioned state championship event, the Winter Wonderland |
|
|
Festival BBQ Cook-Off features highly skilled pit masters putting |
|
|
their talents to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest |
|
|
entries in several different categories, along with great food and |
|
|
spirited competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A fun-filled event for individuals of all ages, the |
|
|
Winter Wonderland Festival is a popular celebration that is all the |
|
|
more special for helping to brighten the holiday season for the |
|
|
people in the local area; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Winter Wonderland Festival in Rio |
|
|
Grande City and extend sincere best wishes to the event's |
|
|
organizers and participants for an enjoyable and rewarding |
|
|
experience. |
