R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Gloria Caballero Vaello of Benavides on September 24, |
|
2016, at the age of 91; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Amador and Susie Caballero on August 8, |
|
1925, in Benavides, the former Gloria Caballero was the eldest of |
|
five children and readily volunteered to help care for her |
|
brothers, Ricardo, Arnoldo, and Amador, and her sister, Alma; after |
|
attending school in the Benavides Independent School District, she |
|
went on to graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University and Texas |
|
A&I University; she married Frank "Tite" Vaello in 1950, and |
|
together they raised three children, Frank, Mary Ann, and Lee; over |
|
the years, her treasured family grew to include eight grandchildren |
|
and nine great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong champion of education, Mrs. Vaello |
|
enjoyed a career with Benavides ISD that spanned five decades; she |
|
taught second-graders and high school students for many years |
|
before becoming a high school guidance counselor, and throughout |
|
her notable tenure, she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to |
|
the well-being of her students; after retiring from the district, |
|
she dedicated herself to securing a public library for her |
|
hometown; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gloria Vaello was deeply devoted to her family, her |
|
faith, and her community, and she will forever be remembered with |
|
admiration and affection by all who held her close to their hearts; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gloria Caballero |
|
Vaello and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her daughter, Mary Ann Belden, and her husband, Joe; to her son, |
|
Lee Vaello, and his wife, Elizabeth; to her daughter-in-law, Elda |
|
Vaello; to her grandchildren, Mary Candace Francisco, Patrick, |
|
David, and Charlie Belden, Christin Vaello Dockery, and |
|
Christopher, Brandon, and Brianna Vaello; to her eight |
|
great-grandchildren; to her brother, Amador Caballero; to her |
|
sisters-in-law, Alma Caballero and Sylvia Vaello; and to her other |
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gloria |
|
Caballero Vaello. |
