A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the modification of an order establishing the |
|
|
conservatorship of a child. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 156.101, Family Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) Notwithstanding Subsection (a) or any other provision |
|
|
of this subchapter, in a suit filed under this subchapter seeking to |
|
|
modify an order that provides for the appointment of a conservator |
|
|
of a child, Section 153.131 applies. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a suit to modify an order establishing a child's conservatorship |
|
|
pending in a trial court on or filed on or after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
