A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to certified food managers in food establishments in |
|
certain counties. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 437.0075, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 437.0075. CERTIFIED FOOD MANAGERS IN CERTAIN POPULOUS |
|
COUNTIES. (a) A county with a population of at least 4 [2.8] |
|
million may require a certified [trained] food manager to be on duty |
|
during the operating hours of a food establishment. |
|
(b) The training required of food managers can be no more |
|
extensive than that specified under Subchapter D, Chapter 438. |
|
(c) A food establishment that handles only prepackaged food |
|
and does not prepare or package food may not be required to have a |
|
certified food manager under this section. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
