A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a building used as a prescribed pediatric extended care |
|
center. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 248A.152, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
amended by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d) to |
|
read as follows: |
|
(c) A center's building must be suitable for use as a |
|
prescribed pediatric extended care center and must provide a |
|
minimum of 60 square feet of space for each child, exclusive of a |
|
space that is: |
|
(1) a kitchen; |
|
(2) a bathroom; |
|
(3) a storage area; |
|
(4) a stairway; and |
|
(5) an unfinished basement or attic. |
|
(d) The maximum patient capacity at a center may not exceed |
|
100 [60]. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 248A.152(c), Health and Safety Code, as |
|
amended by this Act, does not apply to a prescribed pediatric |
|
extended care center that has a maximum patient capacity of 60 or |
|
fewer patients and that was operating immediately before the |
|
effective date of this Act. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
