A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the cost of transporting a body for the purpose of |
|
|
performing an autopsy. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article 49.10(h), Code of Criminal Procedure, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) The commissioners court shall pay a reasonable fee for |
|
|
the transportation of a body to and from a place where an autopsy |
|
|
can be performed under this article if a justice of the peace orders |
|
|
the body to be transported for the purpose of an autopsy [to the
|
|
|
place]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
