A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a revision of rules applicable to hospital construction |
|
|
by the Department of State Health Services. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The Department of State Health Services |
|
|
shall review rules adopted under 25 T.A.C. Part 1, Chapter 133 |
|
|
(Hospital Licensing), Subchapter I (Physical Plant and |
|
|
Construction Requirements), and revise those rules as necessary to |
|
|
conform to current best practices in hospital construction. The |
|
|
revision shall include the repeal or amendment of rules that are |
|
|
obsolete, redundant, unreasonably burdensome, or otherwise |
|
|
ineffective. |
|
|
(b) The repeal or amendment of a rule described by |
|
|
Subsection (a) of this section shall be made in compliance with |
|
|
state and federal law. |
|
|
(c) The revision required by Subsection (a) of this section |
|
|
shall be completed not later than December 31, 2017. |
|
|
(d) This section expires January 1, 2018. |

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
