SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, March 23, 2017, marked the 100th anniversary of the |
|
|
Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The mission of this exemplary organization is to |
|
|
promote and support a positive economic environment for Washington |
|
|
County while preserving the region's natural resources and |
|
|
exceptional quality of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Washington County Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce has been a volunteer-led nonprofit association whose |
|
|
members provide a wealth of resources for new and existing |
|
|
businesses; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The chamber offers its members opportunities to |
|
|
network with other businesses, market their services and products, |
|
|
and remain informed on issues of importance to the business |
|
|
community; it is an outstanding resource for new and expanding |
|
|
companies and for new residents and people thinking of relocating |
|
|
to the area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Convention and Visitors Bureau has done |
|
|
exceptional work marketing the area to tourists by celebrating the |
|
|
rich history and scenic beauty of Washington County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has had a |
|
|
profound impact on the economic growth and prosperity of the area, |
|
|
and it is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby commend the Washington County Chamber of Commerce on 100 |
|
|
years of exemplary service to the community; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the |
|
|
chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Legislature. |
