JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment protecting private schools |
|
|
and home schools from state and local regulation. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Article VII, Texas Constitution, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 3-d to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 3-d. An agency of the state government, including the |
|
|
legislature, or a political subdivision or agency of a political |
|
|
subdivision of this state may not regulate the educational program |
|
|
of a private school or home school in this state. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2017. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment protecting private |
|
|
schools and home schools from state and local regulation." |
