SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 7

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory Council of The Texas A&M University System; and

WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council was established in 1982 to provide an avenue through which student leaders could address issues common to all campuses within The Texas A&M University System; and

WHEREAS, Composed of two student representatives from each of the system's campuses, the council formally meets twice each year and serves as a liaison to the system's chancellor and board of regents; council members also identify and support emerging leaders, encourage student involvement in campus activities, and promote communication among the system's institutions; and

WHEREAS, These exceptional young leaders play a vital role in the success of the member institutions of The Texas A&M University System, and they are truly deserving of special recognition for their hard work and their many achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory Council of The Texas A&M University System on their leadership and commitment to excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the members of the council as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
