SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join Texans across the state in celebrating January 31, 2017, as |
|
|
Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas Legislative Day at the |
|
|
Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, |
|
|
Incorporated, is a nonprofit organization with the mission of |
|
|
restoring the lives of abused and neglected children; founded |
|
|
with a charter membership of 13 centers, the organization now has |
|
|
70 advocacy centers located throughout the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The organization provides a wide range of vital |
|
|
services to local centers, including training, technical |
|
|
assistance and support, and evaluation services; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 70 local centers serve more than 43,000 |
|
|
children each year; staff members work closely with |
|
|
multidisciplinary teams that include law enforcement |
|
|
organizations and the Texas Department of Family and Protective |
|
|
Services to coordinate joint investigations of child abuse and to |
|
|
help victims receive the services they need to heal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Child abuse is an issue that affects all Texans, |
|
|
and it is truly fitting that the Children's Advocacy Centers of |
|
|
Texas, Incorporated, receive special recognition for its |
|
|
outstanding work in protecting the state's most vulnerable |
|
|
citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the administrators, staff, and |
|
|
volunteers of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, |
|
|
Incorporated, on their efforts on behalf of the state's abused |
|
|
and neglected children and extend to them best wishes for a |
|
|
rewarding and productive Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas |
|
|
Legislative Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
this exemplary organization as an expression of high regard from |
|
|
the Texas Senate. |
