SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 57
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Regina L. Parker, who retired from the Texas Education |
|
Agency on December 31, 2016, after 29 years of exemplary state |
|
service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Regina Parker began her career with the state in |
|
1988, when she joined the Texas Department of Commerce; she |
|
transferred to the Texas Department of Economic Development in |
|
2001, and she continued her work with the department when it was |
|
moved in 2003 to the Office of the Governor's Economic |
|
Development and Tourism Division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In February of 2006, Regina accepted a position |
|
with the Texas Education Agency; for more than 10 years, she |
|
managed and coordinated the process for adopting State Board for |
|
Educator Certification rules; during her tenure with the agency, |
|
she filed more than 1,870 rule actions with the Texas Register; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Regina handled her many |
|
responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; she |
|
was respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at |
|
the Texas Education Agency will be greatly missed; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
Legislature, hereby commend Regina L. Parker on her many |
|
contributions to the state and extend to her best wishes in all |
|
her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
