SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 57
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Regina L. Parker, who retired from the Texas Education
  Agency on December 31, 2016, after 29 years of exemplary state
  service; and
 
         WHEREAS, Regina Parker began her career with the state in
  1988, when she joined the Texas Department of Commerce; she
  transferred to the Texas Department of Economic Development in
  2001, and she continued her work with the department when it was
  moved in 2003 to the Office of the Governor's Economic
  Development and Tourism Division; and
 
         WHEREAS, In February of 2006, Regina accepted a position
  with the Texas Education Agency; for more than 10 years, she
  managed and coordinated the process for adopting State Board for
  Educator Certification rules; during her tenure with the agency,
  she filed more than 1,870 rule actions with the Texas Register; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Regina handled her many
  responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; she
  was respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at
  the Texas Education Agency will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Regina L. Parker on her many
  contributions to the state and extend to her best wishes in all
  her future endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
