SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 93
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Carolyn Y. Rogers Jones
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
  of Dallas in mourning the loss of Carolyn Y. Rogers Jones, who
  died January 25, 2017, at the age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Carolyn Rogers was born on November 9, 1944, and
  she grew up in Abilene with her two siblings; she graduated from
  Woodson High School in 1963, and she attended Bishop College; and
         WHEREAS, Carolyn met her true love, Thomas G. Jones, in
  1967, and they were married the following year; they were blessed
  with four children, who were a source of great pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, Carolyn lived a life of faithful Christian
  service; she shared membership at Mount Zion Baptist Church and
  Plum Street Methodist Church before joining the Galilee
  Missionary Baptist Church with her family, and she later joined
  the congregation of Saint Luke United Methodist Church with her
  husband; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother who was beloved throughout
  the community, she leaves behind memories that will long be cherished
  by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Carolyn Y. Rogers Jones; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Carolyn Rogers Jones.
