SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 111
         WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Nolan and Juanece
  Smith celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
  July 12, 2016; and
 
         WHEREAS, Nolan Smith and the former Juanece Underwood
  were joined in matrimony in 1946 in Nacogdoches; over the years,
  their treasured family grew to include their two sons, Rodney
  and Reginald, as well as their grandchildren, Cherie and
  Brandon, and great-grandson, Tommy; and
 
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the couple
  were longtime educators, and they both retired from the Troup
  Independent School District, where Mr. Smith served as an
  elementary school principal and Mrs. Smith worked as a high
  school teacher; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have enjoyed seven decades of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Nolan and Juanece Smith on
  their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
