SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
         WHEREAS, Members of the 2016-2017 Leadership Mid Valley
  class are visiting the State Capitol on February 8, 2017, to gain
  further insight into the workings of state government; and
 
         WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program
  that provides opportunities for participants to develop
  leadership skills and increase their knowledge of vital public
  issues; and
 
         WHEREAS, Classes inspire a spirit of activism and provide
  networking opportunities and instruction from knowledgeable
  figures who encourage the participants to acquaint themselves
  with community needs and problems while evaluating possible
  solutions; and
 
         WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes
  Roberto Palomares Jr., Linda Calderon, Maria Oralia De los Reyes
  Ph.D., Antonio Lopez Jr., David Arce, Grisel Cavazos, Jason
  Vargas, Hollie Johnston, Maria Cisneros, Ivan Nordhausen, Omar
  Rodriguez, William Feeney, and Lupita Borrego; also in
  attendance are chaperones Laura Espinoza, Robert Donalson,
  Elizabeth Walker, and Andrew Munoz; and
 
         WHEREAS, Working to foster a more informed and involved
  citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the
  Leadership Mid Valley program is helping to build a brighter and
  more promising future for the Lone Star State; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby welcome Class XII of the Leadership Mid
  Valley program to the State Capitol and extend to all
  participants sincere best wishes for continued success.
