SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 130
         WHEREAS, Roger Pace concluded his service as Wood County
  commissioner for Precinct 3 on December 31, 2016, drawing to a
  close a notable tenure in that office that spanned more than
  three decades; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Pace joined the Wood County Commissioners
  Court on January 1, 1985, and served for eight consecutive terms;
  through the years, he was an effective advocate for his
  constituents and helped bring about significant improvements
  within the county, including the construction of the present
  county jail and the Lake Hawkins RV Park, the purchase of a
  subcourthouse in Hawkins, and numerous upgrades to roads and
  bridges; and
 
         WHEREAS, Along the way, Mr. Pace enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife, Sharon, until her passing in January 2016;
  this esteemed Texan is the proud father of five daughters, and
  he takes great joy in his eight grandchildren and two
  great-grandchildren; and
 
         WHEREAS, Roger Pace has demonstrated a deep concern for the
  public interest and a steadfast commitment to making Wood County
  an even better place in which to live and work, and he has earned
  the respect and appreciation of countless fellow Texans; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby honor Roger Pace for his service as Wood
  County commissioner for Precinct 3 and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Mr. Pace as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
