SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 183
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join Texans across the state in celebrating February 14, 2017,
  as Texas Council on Family Violence Day at the Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence is a nationally
  recognized leader in the efforts to end family violence through
  organizational partnerships, advocacy, and direct services for
  women, children, and men; and
 
         WHEREAS, Established in 1978, the Texas Council on Family
  Violence is a nonprofit coalition of organizations and individuals
  united in an effort to promote safe and healthy relationships; and
 
         WHEREAS, The council offers education, training, and
  technical assistance to support service providers for victims
  of family violence, facilitates strategic prevention efforts,
  and works to influence public policy as a unified voice before
  the Texas Legislature; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence has had a
  profound impact on the lives of countless citizens throughout
  the state, and it is truly fitting that a day be set aside to
  recognize its many achievements; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Council on Family Violence
  on its exemplary efforts to end domestic violence and extend to
  its members best wishes for a productive and memorable Texas
  Council on Family Violence Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the council as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
