SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Colonel Adrian B. Nettles, who is retiring after a |
|
|
distinguished 31-year career in the United States Army and the |
|
|
Texas Army National Guard; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Colonel Nettles is retiring from the position of |
|
|
general counsel for the Texas Army National Guard Joint Force |
|
|
Headquarters, where he served as the principal legal advisor for |
|
|
intelligence oversight and policy and regulation interpretation; |
|
|
he also assisted with legislative affairs at the Joint Force |
|
|
Headquarters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He received his commission as an officer in 1985 |
|
|
through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Texas A&M |
|
|
University; he went on to earn a juris doctor degree from the |
|
|
South Texas College of Law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Colonel Nettles had four overseas deployments, |
|
|
beginning in 2000 in Bosnia, where he served as a chief of |
|
|
international and operational law; he went on to serve in three |
|
|
additional combat deployments, one in Afghanistan and two in |
|
|
Iraq; while in Iraq, he was appointed as deputy Red Team chief for |
|
|
General Raymond T. Odierno; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, His many awards and decorations include the |
|
|
Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf |
|
|
clusters, the Purple Heart, and the United States Congressional |
|
|
Veterans Commendation Award; he is truly deserving of special |
|
|
recognition for his courage and sacrifice on behalf of our |
|
|
nation's ideals and principles; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Colonel Adrian B. Nettles on his |
|
|
outstanding service and dedication to duty and extend to him |
|
|
best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
