SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 215
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Curtis Lee Evetts
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of Curtis Lee Evetts of Pittsburg, Texas, who died on
  November 2, 2016, at the age of 84; and
         WHEREAS, Curtis Lee Evetts was born in Medicine Lodge,
  Kansas, on December 1, 1931, to Tom and Lura Marshall Evetts; he was
  joined in matrimony to Bobbye Evetts, and they were blessed with
  three children, Curtis, Janet, and Jennifer; his family later grew
  to include three grandchildren, David, Austin, and Cole, as well as
  three great-grandchildren, John, Reese, and Sadie; and
         WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Pittsburg, Mr. Evetts
  owned and operated the Evetts Oil Company; he was a scoutmaster
  for Boy Scout Troop No. 210, and he was also active with youth
  baseball, the Kiwanis Club, and other civic groups; he had been a
  member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg since 1965; and
         WHEREAS, Curtis Lee Evetts lived a life that was rich in
  personal and professional achievements, and he is deeply missed
  by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Curtis Lee
  Evetts and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
  family:  to his son, Dr. Curtis A. Evetts; to his daughter, Janet
  Franklin; to his grandchildren and their spouses, David and Laura
  Franklin, Austin and Leslie Evetts, and Cole and Kate Evetts; to
  his great-grandchildren, John Franklin, Reese Evetts, and Sadie
  Evetts; to his brother, Clinton Evetts, and his wife, Rosemary;
  to his sister, Lou Ella Humphrey, and her husband, Sam; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Curtis Lee Evetts.
