SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 224
         WHEREAS, The Honorable Timothy Boswell retired as judge of
  the 402nd District Court on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close
  17 years of exemplary service on the bench; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Mineola in 1942, Judge Boswell received
  his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and
  his master's degree and Ph.D. in American diplomatic history from
  Texas Christian University; he earned his law degree from Baylor
  University Law School; and
         WHEREAS, Judge Boswell was appointed to the newly created
  402nd District Court in 1999 by Governor George W. Bush, and
  throughout his tenure, his conscientious approach to the law has
  won him the respect and admiration of his peers and the attorneys
  who have appeared before him; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished jurist has earned the Certificate
  of Special Competence from the Texas College for Judicial
  Studies, and he has served as Region One representative for the
  Texas Association of District Judges; before his appointment to
  the bench, he enjoyed a successful career as an attorney in
  private practice in Wood County, and he taught for a time at Paul
  Quinn College, when that school was in Waco; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Judge Boswell has enjoyed
  the love and support of his wife, Celia, as well as that of his three
  children; and
         WHEREAS, Tim Boswell's commitment to the highest ideals of
  public service has greatly benefited the people of Wood County,
  and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he
  embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable Timothy Boswell
  on his retirement as judge of the 402nd District Court and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Judge Boswell as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
