SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 250
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo for her 25 years of outstanding |
|
|
work in the field of education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Lusignolo is the superintendent of schools |
|
|
for the Texas City Independent School District; she began her |
|
|
career in Wichita Falls, where she served as a first grade |
|
|
teacher and as a mathematics teacher in junior and senior high |
|
|
schools before focusing on a career in school administration; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Midwestern State University, she |
|
|
earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Lamar |
|
|
University in 2010; she served as an assistant superintendent in |
|
|
the Barbers Hill Independent School District and as |
|
|
superintendent of the Liberty Independent School District before |
|
|
joining Texas City Independent School District in 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her distinguished career, she |
|
|
has received numerous honors and accolades, and she recently |
|
|
received the 2016 Citizen of the Year award from the Texas |
|
|
City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce; she has also been active in a |
|
|
wide range of community and philanthropic organizations, |
|
|
including Kiwanis International, the Lions Club, United Way, and |
|
|
Rotary Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A talented administrator, Dr. Lusignolo has had a |
|
|
positive impact on the lives of countless students, and it is |
|
|
truly fitting that she receive special recognition; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo on her |
|
|
commitment to excellence in education and extend to her best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
