SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 388

WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, William and Doris Moore made a lifetime commitment to one another, and their mutual trust has been amply rewarded, for they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, William and Doris met at Tyler Commercial College in Tyler, Texas, and they were married on February 22, 1947, after a whirlwind romance of three months and 10 days; and

WHEREAS, Much has changed during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Moore have continued to cherish the same traditional values that helped inspire their bond long ago; over the years, they have grown stronger in their love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Moore have been blessed with a wonderful family; their children, Christy Habecker and Ron Moore, and their three granddaughters and great-grandson have been a source of immense pride and joy; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Moore celebrated their anniversary with family at their home in Georgetown, where they have resided for the last 23 years; the loving relationship they share is truly an inspiration to all; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Moore on their 70th wedding anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them as a memento of this special day.
