SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 544

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Tin Roof BBQ Cook-off; and

WHEREAS, This exceptional event is produced annually by Tin Roof BBQ and is held on the first weekend in June every year; and

WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers Association as one of the organization's annual state championship cook-offs, the event features many talented chefs who compete to feature the best of barbecue; and

WHEREAS, All proceeds benefit the veterans group Banded Brigade Outdoors, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to take wounded or retired veterans hunting and fishing; their slogan is "From the Front Line to a Huntin' Blind"; and

WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the Tin Roof BBQ Cook-off provides a wholesome and competitive environment that will satisfy the most discriminating of palates; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors and participants in the Tin Roof BBQ Cook-off and extend to them best wishes for a successful event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
