SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 548
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Clayton Johnson, who has retired after 59 years of
  exceptional work as a barber in the city of Austin; and
 
         WHEREAS, Clayton Johnson began cutting hair at the age of
  20 at Arnold's on Guadalupe Street; he worked for a time at
  Tarrytown Barbershop and at Roy's Barbershop before establishing
  his own business, Clayton's, in 1968; he moved his shop to
  Hancock Drive in 1971; and
 
         WHEREAS, Through the years, he has developed a loyal
  clientele that has often included multiple generations of the
  same family; he is noted for both the quality of his work and his
  engaging conversation with patrons; and
 
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, he has received the
  invaluable support of his beloved wife, Carolyn, and he and
  Carolyn have been blessed with four children, 10 grandchildren,
  and four great-grandchildren; and
 
         WHEREAS, Clayton Johnson has been an important part of the
  fabric of life in Austin for nearly six decades, and it is truly
  fitting that he receive special recognition as his career draws
  to a close; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Clayton Johnson on his many
  contributions to his community and extend to him best wishes for
  continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
