SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 551

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to welcome the members of the Georgetown Area Republican Women to the Capitol for Texas Federation of Republican Women Day, which is being observed April 6, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The Georgetown Area Republican Women was founded for the purpose of actively supporting Republican Party candidates and providing strength and unity for political action; its members have diligently worked to encourage Republican women to run for office and to train women to become effective Republican Party workers; and

WHEREAS, Club members have mounted impressive political education initiatives for the general public and publish a monthly newsletter, and the club offers an invaluable source of volunteers for community service projects; and

WHEREAS, Through the years, the members of the Georgetown Area Republican Women have been productive and influential voices in the electoral process, and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Georgetown Area Republican Women on their commitment to public service and extend to them best wishes for a memorable Texas Federation of Republican Women Day; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the club as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
