SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 553

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to welcome the members of the Williamson County Republican Women to the Capitol for Texas Federation of Republican Women Day, which is being observed April 6, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The Williamson County Republican Women was founded in 1977 and is a multigenerational group of men and women who passionately support Republican Party values and who work to have an impact on local, state, and national politics; and

WHEREAS, The members of this important organization seek to promote an informed electorate through political education and to increase women's effectiveness in the cause of good government; they have played an important role in the election of numerous Republican Party candidates and in facilitating cooperation among Republican Party women's clubs across the state; and

WHEREAS, Through the years, the members of the Williamson County Republican Women have been highly productive and influential voices in the electoral process, and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Williamson County Republican Women on their commitment to public service and extend to them best wishes for a memorable Texas Federation of Republican Women Day; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the club as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
