SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 643

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Victoria Catholic War Veterans, Saint John's Post 1269, on the occasion of its 70th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, This exemplary post was founded by Catholic veterans returning from their service in the European and Pacific theaters after World War II; it was chartered by the national Catholic War Veterans on March 12, 1947; and

WHEREAS, In addition to the services it provides area veterans, Saint John's Post 1269 is also active in community affairs, notably through its support of educational opportunities for young people; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding, the post has faithfully followed the Catholic War Veterans motto, "For God, For Country, For Home"; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Victoria Catholic War Veterans, Saint John's Post 1269, on their many contributions to the Victoria community and extend to them best wishes for a memorable 70th anniversary celebration; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the post as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
