SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 655
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |
|
|
cause for celebration, and Rita Polland is marking this |
|
|
significant milestone in her life on April 21, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in 1927, Mrs. Polland is not a native of the |
|
|
Lone Star State, but after residing within its borders in 1968, |
|
|
she resolved to return one day; she achieved that commendable |
|
|
goal in 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Polland was employed as a secretary until |
|
|
her retirement; sensible and levelheaded, she has lovingly |
|
|
guided several generations of descendants, and today she |
|
|
rejoices in her role as matriarch of a large extended family; she |
|
|
sets an example for others as an active citizen; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rita Polland is a source of tremendous |
|
|
inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through nine |
|
|
decades of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom |
|
|
that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate Rita Polland on the joyous |
|
|
occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Mrs. Polland as an expression of high regard from the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
