SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 749
         WHEREAS, Louise Kanold of Mineola celebrated her 102nd
  birthday on April 18, 2017, to the delight of her family and
  friends; and
 
         WHEREAS, Born in Baltimore in 1915, Mrs. Kanold moved to
  California early in her marriage; she and her husband resided in
  Costa Mesa for many years, and they performed together as members
  of the Funtastiks dance troupe, which entertained residents of
  senior centers and nursing homes for three decades; on the occasion
  of their 50th wedding anniversary, the couple received the key to
  the city of Costa Mesa for their outstanding contributions as
  volunteers; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanold shared a fulfilling relationship of
  63 years with her husband before his passing; for the past
  decade, she has lived with her daughter, Carol Black, and her
  husband, Harold; she still enjoys singing, and she spends much of
  her time crocheting beautiful gifts for others, from pot holders
  and scarves to more elaborate items; every day, she walks for
  about 20 minutes, sampling judiciously from any candy dishes she
  may happen to encounter along the way; and
 
         WHEREAS, Louise Kanold is a source of tremendous
  inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through more than
  a century of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom
  that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Louise Kanold on her 102nd
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Mrs. Kanold as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
