SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 817
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Deputy Andre Caracciolo, of the Tarrant County |
|
|
Sheriff's Office, who is being honored with a Medal of Valor for |
|
|
his heroism; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Caracciolo is a decorated veteran of the |
|
|
United States Army who completed a tour of duty in Iraq; he has |
|
|
been a member of the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office for more |
|
|
than nine years; he is a field training officer and serves as a |
|
|
member of the North Patrol Division and the sheriff's tactical |
|
|
unit; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On December 30, 2016, Deputies Andre Caracciolo |
|
|
and Robert Meza responded to a dispatched call to assist the fire |
|
|
department; upon arrival at the scene, the deputies observed a |
|
|
vehicle and the primary residence partially engulfed in flames; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, When they approached the residence, they heard |
|
|
voices from within the burning structure, and disregarding their |
|
|
own safety, they entered the building to locate and rescue the |
|
|
occupants; despite the presence of explosions elsewhere in the |
|
|
residence, the deputies pushed forward and located a man in the |
|
|
kitchen area and escorted him outside to safety; Deputy |
|
|
Caracciolo then reentered the home and was able to confirm that |
|
|
no one else was inside; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Caracciolo suffered smoke inhalation and |
|
|
required medical attention as a result of his heroic actions; it |
|
|
is truly fitting that he receive special recognition for his |
|
|
bravery; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Deputy Andre Caracciolo on his quick |
|
|
thinking and decisive action and extend to him best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him |
|
|
as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
