SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 823
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Brianna Matias of Round Rock on the occasion of her
  graduation from the Texas School for the Deaf; and
 
         WHEREAS, Brianna's graduation is the culmination of diligent
  study in a curriculum designed to challenge her and broaden her
  knowledge; she is celebrating this milestone in commencement
  exercises on June 1, 2017; and
 
         WHEREAS, Brianna can take pride in having earned her
  diploma from the Texas School for the Deaf; the school is
  respected in academic circles in Texas, as well as nationally,
  for its quality of instruction and dedication to excellence in
  teaching; and
 
         WHEREAS, A talented and hardworking student, Brianna met
  her academic goals while participating in extracurricular
  programs including swimming, cheerleading, and cross-country;
  she balanced her senior-year course load with learning about
  job-market possibilities in part-time employment positions as a
  sales associate, a teacher's aide, and a printer specialist; and
 
         WHEREAS, Brianna can face the future with confidence that
  her proven abilities, learning skills, and acquired knowledge
  will hold her in good stead for whatever vocation she chooses; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Brianna Matias on her graduation
  from the Texas School for the Deaf and extend to her best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
