SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 864
|
|
WHEREAS, The Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee |
|
of the Texas Senate is tasked with handling duties relating to |
|
legislation that benefits the nation's veterans and service |
|
members and maintains the security of the Texas border; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Five college student veterans served the |
|
committee with distinction during the 85th Legislature as |
|
interns; over the course of the session, these veterans worked |
|
tirelessly to assist the committee in its work, and their |
|
perseverance and dedication played a significant role in the |
|
committee's ability to perform its responsibilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The interns serving the committee were Gwen |
|
Carmichael, Brad Burnett, Brandon Gajeton, Matthew Hurst, and |
|
Pedro Solis; their service was in keeping with the highest |
|
traditions of the United States armed forces, and they brought |
|
great credit to themselves, their institutions of higher |
|
education, and the military community at large; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
Legislature, hereby commend the veterans who served as |
|
interns for the Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee |
|
on their exceptional service to the Texas Senate and extend to |
|
them best wishes for continued success in all their endeavors; |
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
