SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 864
         WHEREAS, The Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee
  of the Texas Senate is tasked with handling duties relating to
  legislation that benefits the nation's veterans and service
  members and maintains the security of the Texas border; and
 
         WHEREAS, Five college student veterans served the
  committee with distinction during the 85th Legislature as
  interns; over the course of the session, these veterans worked
  tirelessly to assist the committee in its work, and their
  perseverance and dedication played a significant role in the
  committee's ability to perform its responsibilities; and
 
         WHEREAS, The interns serving the committee were Gwen
  Carmichael, Brad Burnett, Brandon Gajeton, Matthew Hurst, and
  Pedro Solis; their service was in keeping with the highest
  traditions of the United States armed forces, and they brought
  great credit to themselves, their institutions of higher
  education, and the military community at large; now, therefore,
  be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend the veterans who served as
  interns for the Veteran Affairs and Border Security Committee
  on their exceptional service to the Texas Senate and extend to
  them best wishes for continued success in all their endeavors;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
