SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, That Senate Rule 12.03 be |
|
|
suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the |
|
|
conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on |
|
|
House Bill 555 (an additional fee for issuing a marriage license |
|
|
to applicants who are not residents of this state and the form of |
|
|
a marriage license and application for a marriage license) to |
|
|
consider and take action on the following matter: |
|
|
Senate Rule 12.03(1) is suspended to permit the committee |
|
|
to amend text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 6 of the |
|
|
bill to read as follows: |
|
|
SECTION 6. The change in law made by this Act applies |
|
|
only to a marriage license issued on or after January 1, 2019. A |
|
|
marriage license issued before January 1, 2019, is governed by |
|
|
the law in effect immediately before the effective date of this |
|
|
Act, and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
|
Explanation: This change is necessary to delay |
|
|
implementation of the bill until January 1, 2019. |
