SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 961
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  David Solis
 
         WHEREAS, A loving family and a host of dear friends will
  forever cherish their memories of David Solis of San Antonio,
  who passed away on May 21, 2017, at the age of 55; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Gloria and Raul Solis, David Solis grew
  up with the companionship of four siblings, Raul, Rachel,
  Diana, and Javier; after graduating from John F. Kennedy High
  School in 1981, he began a career with H-E-B that continued for
  more than two decades; he was subsequently employed as a
  custodian with the Northside Independent School District before
  he retired to devote himself to caring for his parents; and
         WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Spanky," Mr. Solis was
  warmhearted and gregarious, and he welcomed every opportunity
  to gather with his friends and family, whether at barbecues,
  Spurs watch parties, or other special occasions; he had a winning
  smile and a sense of humor that endeared him to countless people,
  and he never shied away from lending a helping hand whenever a
  friend was in need; his circle of loved ones included nieces and
  nephews, to whom he was deeply devoted, and his life was further
  enriched by the companionship of his girlfriend, Dorothy
  Woodard; and
         WHEREAS, Those who were fortunate enough to know David Solis
  will never forget the laughter, love, and happiness that he shared
  with them, and he will always hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of David Solis and
  extend deepest condolences to the members of his family:  to
  his parents, Gloria and Raul Solis; to his siblings, Raul Solis
  and his wife, Gerri, Rachel San Martin and her husband,
  Dr. Roberto San Martin, Diana Rivas and her husband, Ernest,
  and Javier Solis and his wife, Veronica; to his girlfriend,
  Dorothy Woodard; to his many nieces and nephews; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his
  family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so
  in memory of David Solis.
