In Memory |

of |

|
David Solis |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, A loving family and a host of dear friends will |
|
|
forever cherish their memories of David Solis of San Antonio, |
|
|
who passed away on May 21, 2017, at the age of 55; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Gloria and Raul Solis, David Solis grew |
|
|
up with the companionship of four siblings, Raul, Rachel, |
|
|
Diana, and Javier; after graduating from John F. Kennedy High |
|
|
School in 1981, he began a career with H-E-B that continued for |
|
|
more than two decades; he was subsequently employed as a |
|
|
custodian with the Northside Independent School District before |
|
|
he retired to devote himself to caring for his parents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Spanky," Mr. Solis was |
|
|
warmhearted and gregarious, and he welcomed every opportunity |
|
|
to gather with his friends and family, whether at barbecues, |
|
|
Spurs watch parties, or other special occasions; he had a winning |
|
|
smile and a sense of humor that endeared him to countless people, |
|
|
and he never shied away from lending a helping hand whenever a |
|
|
friend was in need; his circle of loved ones included nieces and |
|
|
nephews, to whom he was deeply devoted, and his life was further |
|
|
enriched by the companionship of his girlfriend, Dorothy |
|
|
Woodard; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those who were fortunate enough to know David Solis |
|
|
will never forget the laughter, love, and happiness that he shared |
|
|
with them, and he will always hold a treasured place in their |
|
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of David Solis and |
|
|
extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to |
|
|
his parents, Gloria and Raul Solis; to his siblings, Raul Solis |
|
|
and his wife, Gerri, Rachel San Martin and her husband, |
|
|
Dr. Roberto San Martin, Diana Rivas and her husband, Ernest, |
|
|
and Javier Solis and his wife, Veronica; to his girlfriend, |
|
|
Dorothy Woodard; to his many nieces and nephews; and to his |
|
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his |
|
|
family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so |
|
|
in memory of David Solis. |
